2024 NACCOP Clery Act Webinar Series Description
NACCOP is excited to continue our webinar series that provides an overview of the fundamental topics related to Clery Compliance activities. The webinar series is FREE for NACCOP members!
The NACCOP Webinar Series is updated annually to include the changes and updates to the requirements for complying with the Clery Act. Participants receive the most up-to-date information for each topic area.
The webinar materials for any NACCOP webinar will only be provided to individuals who register for and participate in the webinar.
Invite Other Key Administrators from Your Campus
NACCOP provides a list of specific campus administrators that should be invited to participate in each individual webinar on the website (there is a list specific to each webinar, as the people who need to be informed differs from topic to topic). NACCOP encourages members to invite the identified administrators to each webinar to use this series to provide initial and on-going education for administrators on campus who need a higher level of understanding of the requirements of the Clery Act. The webinar series is also a perfect way to provide training for your Clery Compliance Committee.

1. Campus Security Authorities
February 22, 2024 (90 minutes)
This webinar is designed to address key concepts and provide attendees overview information regarding Campus Security Authorities. This webinar will assist in understanding how to identify your CSAs, as well as managing and training them. At a minimum, we suggest that you invite representatives from the following departments to this session: Public Safety/Police Department, General Counsel’s Office, Compliance and Internal Audit, VP of Student Affairs/Dean of Students, Student Activities/Fraternity & Sorority Life, Residence Life and Housing, Human Resources, Athletics, Study Abroad Office, Title IX Coordinator/Sexual Assault Response Team Leader, Director of Student Health, and Provost/Academic Affairs Office.
2. Clery Geography
March 7, 2024 (90 minutes)
This webinar will review Clery Geography definitions and illuminate key concepts and challenges institutions face with accurately identifying addressing geographic requirements). 3. Classifying and Counting Crimes
March 21, 2024 (2 hours)
This webinar will provide overview content related to collecting, classifying and counting Clery reportable crimes. Important nuances around the definitions and counting rules will be highlighted. At a minimum, we suggest that you invite representatives from the following departments to this session: Public Safety/Police Department, General Counsel’s Office, Compliance and Internal Audit, Student Conduct, VP of Student Affairs/Dean of Students, and Title IX Coordinator/Sexual Assault Response Team Leader.
4. Drug, Liquor and Weapons Arrests and Referrals
April 4, 2024 (2 hours)
Counting Drug, Liquor and Weapons Referrals and Arrests. This webinar delivers information about the counting requirements for Drug, Liquor and Weapons Law arrests & referral statistics. An overview of definitions and promising procedures will be provided. At a minimum, we suggest that you invite representatives from the following departments to this session: Public Safety/Police Department, General Counsel’s Office, Compliance and Internal Audit, Student Conduct, VP of Student Affairs/Dean of Students, Residence Life and Housing, and Title IX Coordinator/Sexual Assault Response Team Leader.
5. Annual Security Report Statements of Policy

This webinar identifies the content for accurate policy statements as required in the Annual Security Report. (VAWA, Timely Warning and Immediate Notification content will be in those webinars). 6. Timely Warnings and Emergency Notifications
May 2, 2024 (90 minutes)
This webinar will highlight requirements and distinctions of Timely Warning Notices and Immediate Notifications. Best practices and procedural development will be addressed. At a minimum, we suggest that you invite representatives from the following departments to this session: Public Safety/Police Department, General Counsel’s Office, Compliance and Internal Audit, VP of Student Affairs/Dean of Students, Title IX Coordinator/Sexual Assault Response Team Leader, Provost/Academic Affairs Office, External/Media Relations and the appropriate Vice Presidents and leaders who are involved in making decisions regarding communicating with the campus community.
7. Violence Against Women Act
May 16, 2024 (2 hours)
This webinar will provide an overview of the disclosure and implementation requirements mandated by the Violence Against Women Act. Specifically, the webinar will provide an overview of the educational programs that must be provided to students and employees; the procedures a victim should follow; and the procedures the institution will follow when a VAWA crime is reported, including disciplinary procedures (the requirements for classifying and counting VAWA Offenses are addressed in Webinar 3). At a minimum, we suggest that you invite representatives from the following departments to this session: Public Safety/Police Department, General Counsel’s Office, Compliance and Internal Audit, Student Conduct, VP of Student Affairs/Dean of Students, Residence Life and Housing, Human Resources, Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention Educator, Women’s Center, Admissions, the Title IX Coordinator/Sexual Assault Response Team Leader, and Provost/Academic Affairs Office.

This webinar will walk through the Crime and Fire Log components. A highlight of the requirements to maintaining a compliant log and best practices will be delivered. This webinar will review the requirements of the Fire Safety Report, key definitions and fire safety statistics. Additionally, Missing Persons notification requirements and procedures will be reviewed. 10. Preparing for a U.S. Department of Education Program Review

This webinar will provide the attendees with an understanding of what happens during an audit and how to prepare your institution for a Department of Education program review. This webinar will highlight recent Department of Education audits as well as addressing key documentation institutions should be maintaining in the event of an audit.
